Reality Tv Shows
Reality tv shows act as the ‘spice’ in the ordinary lives of the normal people. Reality shows are branched into innumerable types where the ‘ordinary people’ from amongst you go and participate to win the show.
From shows of singing, dancing, comedy, thriller, real life adventures to daily life of the people, reality tv shows are everywhere inside your tv screen.
Reality tv shows and the participants in such shows have a world of their own. Sometimes producers and directors of such shows try to create an entire life by locking up the participants inside a house and capturing their mood changes with passing time, or at times they leave the participants on the road, where they pursue their ‘clues’ and ‘awards’ and henceforth their ‘journeys’ are captured.
The entire idea of a reality tv show is continuously evolving depending upon the reaction of the audience watching it from their couch.
Reality tv shows – how much real are they?
The ‘reality’ content of reality tv shows are becoming a debatable topic nowadays, because some reality tv shows also include the audience in them indirectly, by giving them the power to vote their favorite participant to stay in the show.
While the truth is that such stunts on behalf of the producers are mere gimmicks to involve the audience, when all they are bothered about are the millions of extra bucks they are earning with their tie-ups with telecom companies.
Yes it might be very shocking for you to know the truth, but it is fact that every penny that you spend to ‘save’ your favorite contestant, a part of it is pocketed by the producers and makers of such reality tv shows.
The effect of such shows upon the present generation of youth is not known because teenagers are fascinated by the ‘reality’ of such shows and try to copy their favorite contestants in their real lives.
So intellectuals are now questioning the ‘reality quotient’ of such shows because when the youth believes in the reality of such shows, and try to reciprocate the violence, action or melodrama of the same in their real lives, they fail to realize that they are losing their self identity in doing so.
Most of the reality shows nowadays are believed to be scripted, and the most astonishing part is that the real life people i.e. the relatives of the participants are also consciously driven into such shows.
The success of reality tv shows nowadays is directly proportional to the drops of tears the participants shed along with their family, the abusive comments the contestants can mouth at each other and the level of fury and violence portrayed by the contestants of such shows.
All the above raise the TRPs of reality tv shows and so nobody can blame the makers of such shows one sided because the audience is loving whatever is being shown in such shows too!
Talent based reality shows
However not all reality shows are fully fake, for example ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ – a cooking based reality show which involves ordinary people portraying their cooking skills while competing against each other and judged by famous chefs.
